Friendly Sons:

It’s been about two months since we celebrated THE DAY with our Black Tie Dinner and the San Diego Saint Patrick’s Day Parade the following morning. Back-to-back events are taxing but there’s nowhere else on earth we’d rather be than in that Beer Garden to “tune up” and then marching on 5th and 6th Avenues on that beautiful, sunny Saturday morning. It NEVER rains in SoCal on THE DAY….well maybe once a decade or so, but those wet days are just as sweet. Hey, Ireland average 15 days of rain each and every month. Really. Now you know that.

We’ve been doing this since 1953 and your participation in the revelry makes all the expense, planning, and physical labor worth it. Really.

The parade is a private event with the yearly cost approaching $150,000. And as costs and logistic complexities rise yearly, it is not out of the realm of possibilities that there could be no parade. Really.

The ”March With Us” Annual Appeal collects funds that go DIRECTLY to the cost of the parade with no waste or funny business. I am literally BEGGING you. We need your help. As a 501(c)(3) charity, all donations to The Friendly Sons Of Saint Patrick are 100% tax-deductible. Really.

As a donor, we will (if you desire so) list your name, or an honoree you designate, in the 2018 Black Tie Dinner program. Donations made prior to December 31, 2017 will qualify for a tax deduction in this calendar year. You will get a confirmation letter for tax documentation purposes. $500, $100, $20…..ANY amount helps. You decide what to give.

Many of you work for companies or businesses that match all or a portion of donations to charity. Please see if your company can help out as well. We can help work with your company if you prompt us to do so.

We make it easy, with two ways to donate, using:

1) Check. Fill out the attached form, stroke a check and drop it in the mailbox.
2) Paypal using the ‘March With Us Donation’ button below.

I hope to hear from you. Rea…….. OK enough of that. Thanks for listening and please donate today.
